This piece was inspired by the goddess Persephone, who we associated with the changing of the seasons. Here we see the figure dressed in white, facing toward the light, signaling a new beginning. In her hand are tulips, a symbol of Spring. They have yet to open. This is just the beginning and she has time yet to flourish in this new season of awakening and growth.
This piece pairs with “Fall.”
Signed, varnished, and finished with an ornate gold frame. Canvas measures 24”x36” and frame measures 29”x41”.
