(Oil and Foil on Canvas)
Antheia, the Greek goddess of gardens was the inspiration for this piece. I finished painting her just as the Spring flowers were popping up. This goddess was associated with blossoming love, natural beauty, fertility, and the nuturing of friendships. Often depicted with flowers and gold hair, I chose to switch it up and give her a golden halo of sorts instead.
This piece feels so joyfully defiant to me. She’s proud of her growth and it shows!
Signed and varnished. This piece is painted on a wide edged finished canvas and is unframed. Canvas measures 24”x36”.
