Pasithea was the goddess of rest and relaxation. Other than her symbol, the poppy, not much is known about her. This piece was inspired by the idea of her visiting a mere mortal, generously bestowing the luxury of full contentment and shameless rest.
I wanted this piece to feel luscious and dreamy, like a lazy morning soaking in the sun, free of obligation or urgency.
Signed, varnished, and finished with an ornate gold frame. Canvas measures 30”x40” and frame measures approximately 38”x48”.
